Here in WideSpot we are in the midst of farms. Lots of corn and soy. Some sorghum. These crops produce a meteorological condition known as “corn sweat.”

WideSpot is my Kansas hometown. It’s vaguely in the northwest quarter of the state. I try to work every day, but the hot weather has knee-capped me and I have struggled to just keep the house in a sort of hygienic manner. My other excuse is that I am writing romance and that’s hard to do when every minute of the day you’re sticky.

This is a lovely summer illustration. However, Rick and Anne are in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon to be exact. They have no corn sweat. not even pine sweat.

There is hope. Next week the humidity that is part of our current weather front will be carrying approximately half of the humidity.
